Embrace Healing with Somatic Therapy

Q: What Is Somatic Therapy?!

Somatic Therapy is a transformative approach to healing that recognizes the profound connection between our bodies and our emotions. This therapeutic method focuses on the idea that our bodies hold onto past experiences, emotions, traumas, and negative beliefs. Over time, we may override or disconnect from our sensations, intuition, and the innate wisdom our bodies hold onto over the years or even decades. Somatic Therapy provides a way to reestablish this vital connection and facilitate deep healing.

Why Somatic Therapy?

Throughout our lives and thanks to modern day society, we have learned along the way to ignore or suppress our bodily sensations and feelings, often as a coping mechanism. This disconnection can lead to physical discomfort, emotional pain, and a sense of disintegration. Somatic Therapy invites us to re-engage with our bodies, allowing them to communicate their needs and stories. This is a beautiful way to embody our own innate wisdom that has always been inside of each of us. Sometimes, we need a safe space to reconnect that relationship.

Energy Healing through Somatic Therapy With Meg

By tuning into our physical sensations, we can:

Reconnect with Our Bodies:

Somatic Therapy encourages us to drop into our bodies, listen to their messages without judgment, and honor the inner wisdom. This reconnection helps us understand and address the sources of physical and emotional discomfort.

Move Stored Emotions and Trauma:

Emotions and traumas often get stored in our bodies, manifesting as tension, pain, or other physical symptoms. Somatic Therapy uses techniques such as movement, sensory awareness, and dialogue to release these stored experiences, allowing for emotional, physical, and mental relief in many different forms.

Transform Negative Beliefs:

Negative beliefs can be deeply ingrained in our bodies. By exploring and addressing these beliefs through body awareness and parts work (as discovered by Robert Schwartz), we can begin to transform and heal these limiting patterns.

Through Somatic Therapy, we can:

Connect with the Inner Child:

Somatic Therapy provides a space to engage with and understand the inner child—the part of us that may have experienced wounds or unmet needs during childhood. By fostering this connection, we can address and heal past emotional pain

Release Childhood Trauma:

Trauma is stored in the body, affecting us from early childhood, well into adulthood. Somatic Therapy offers tools to safely and effectively release these stored traumas, promoting both emotional and physical well-being.

Facilitate Integration:

By working with the inner child, Somatic Therapy helps integrate fragmented parts of our psyche. This process supports emotional healing by acknowledging and addressing unresolved childhood experiences, leading to a more cohesive sense of self.

Nurture and Reparent:

Somatic Therapy can also involve nurturing the inner child and reparenting, creating a supportive internal dialogue that fosters self-compassion and repair of past wounds.

 Inner Child Healing and Integration

An integral aspect of my work is its ability to support inner child healing and integration. The inner child represents different parts of us that can hold onto the emotional experiences and memories from our early years. These formative experiences can deeply influence our current emotional state and behaviors. It quite simply could be the main reason why you show up in the world the way you do now.
